Welcome to the website
of the NatWest Under-16 Indoor six-a-side Cricket League, which is now
in its eighth winter season at the Hampshire Rose Bowl. This invitation
Sunday evening
competition, formed in January 2001 when the Rose Bowl was opened,
comprises junior sides
from the bulk of the leading recreational clubs in the region, in
addition to district sides from the
New Forest and South East Hants. Most of the leading young players from
Hampshire, Dorset,
the Isle of Wight and Wiltshire play in the competition. Matches are
played on a round-robin
basis at 6, 7 and 8 o'clock each Sunday evening throughout the winter
months, with the top four
sides in the "league" playing off for the NatWest Trophy in April.
Games are 12-overs per side
and played in accordance with ECB playing regulations.
The league is indebted to NatWest and to the Lord's Taverners'
Foundation for their continued
support, and to Steve Malone and Roger Forder, who umpire our matches
throughout the winter
months.
Spectators are most welcome to come to the Rose Bowl on Sunday evenings
- it's free too !
There are excellent spectator facilities and, fingers crossed, a
licensed bar will be open. |
